Studying: Medicine at Cambridge University
I can confidently say that my collaboration with Simon Parker has been a great success! When I first met him, he told me that I am a bit late to start my application to study medicine in the UK, and even more, he was prepared with alternatives to suggest, considering the very little time I had to complete and submit my application through UCAS.
He guided me through the entire process, we went through 9 revisions of my personal statement together; he even came to my school to talk to my teachers about the recommendation letter that I needed from them, explaining how it should be written and proof-reading it once it was done. Simon helped me with the entire UCAS application process, whenever I was in doubt I could call him for clarifications.
However, I can say that by far the greatest support that Simon provided was the collaboration with Stuart Elford, a Cambridge Natural Sciences graduate, who offered to read my application and help me re-phrase it and make it read better overall. I went through two revisions with Stuart, and as it can now be seen, my personal statement was good enough to convince Cambridge to call me for an interview. Simon helped me prepare for the interview as well, organizing multiple training sessions, with questions specifically designed for Oxbridge interviews.I am quite sure that without all this help, I wouldn’t have made it past this stage.
Last but not least, Simon also helped me go through all the forms and paperwork I had to do both with the Student Support team and with Cambridge’s Admissions Office, even going as far as telling me what coaches to book from the airport to Cambridge and a few tips regarding British culture.
In the end, I can say it was a wonderful experience! Simon clearly knows what he’s doing, and he’s good at it.
